Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment Area (Cluster 6) is under the Global Challanges and European Industrial Competitiveness component of the Horizon Europe Programme. The aim of the cluster is; ensuring the sustainability of food, preventing environmental degradation, preserving biodiversity, water security, and realizing an economy that manages better natural resources. Within the scope of the field, it is planned to support projects on biodiversity, environmentally-friendly food production systems and food chain, circular and bio-economy, clean environment and waste prevention, strengthening rural, urban and coastal communities, environmental monitoring technologies and the European Union Green Deal. Within the scope of the field, calls will be opened in line with 7 destinations below:
Destination 1: Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services
Destination 2: Fair, Healthy and Environmentally-Friendly Food Systems from Primary Production to Consumption
Destination 3: Circular Economy and Bioeconomy Sectors
Destination 4: Clean Environment and Zero Pollution
Destination 5: Land, Oceans and Water for Climate Action
Destination 6: Resilient, Inclusive, Healthy and Green Rural, Coastal and Urban Communities
Destination 7: Innovative governance, environmental observations and digital solutions in support of the Green Deal
2026 Calls
The 2026 Cluster 6 calls have a total budget of €676.40 million. Part of the calls opened for applications on 14 January 2026, and the official Work Programme has been published by the European Commission. The Work Programme is available here.
A Project Brokerage Event for the 2026 Cluster 6 calls, organised by the CARE4BIO project, took place on 21 January 2026 in Brussels, Belgium. More information is available here.

Recent Developments and Project Results on Cluster 6 Priorities from CORDIS

Closely related to Horizon Europe Cluster 6, these publications bring together concrete results and successful examples from EU-funded projects. Explore the Results Packs here.
